SETTING A GOAL FOR FITNESS

Are you one of those people who will intensely workout and limit your diet only when preparing for an upcoming event?

This is a common trend; however, it`s not the healthiest or most effective. If this type of lifestyle becomes a pattern, you`ll soon find yourself falling back into old ways and never really achieving the long lasting benefits you desire.

The key to staying fit is through consistency in your diet and exercise. You want to create a deficit, then refuel your body in the right way (through portion control and choosing the right foods) to build sustainable gains.

WHY DO I NEED TO WORKOUT
There are many reasons behind why people work out, yet the most common reason is to be healthy. It`s unrealistic to think you can offset an unhealthy eating habit with just exercise.

I stay fit not only to lose weight, but because I`ve noticed it leads me make wiser food choices which in turn allow me eat more. The benefit of exercise and working out is that it gives your body more shape, strength and endurance; most of all it speeds up your metabolism.

Along with any fitness routine, whether you perform it at home or at the gym, you must include a healthy diet. This means that you need to count the amount of calories you put in your body and exercise adequately to create a deficit if you want to lose body fat. Both factors must work hand in hand in order to achieve the result you want.

HOW LONG SHOULD I WORKOUT?

Many people participate in “yoyo exercise” in which they’ll workout for brief periods of time and once the temporary results are achieved, they will stop.

What’s great about exercise is even simple tasks like cleaning the house or doing yard work can serve as a simple workout. Playing ball with the kids or any outdoor activities that requires a elevated/extended heart rate is considered healthy activity.

The benefit of working out is to increase mobility, strengthen the cardiovascular system, and decrease the chance of disease. There isn’t a specific time frame of how long to work out for, however, it should be made it a daily habit!
